Another week, another blog. Today we call out the passionate and adventurous cyclists/hikers in and around the Madrid region.
As temperatures are rising, and tourism is again in an upwards lift, public places in Madrid might be getting more packed.
Madrid City has plenty of beautiful sceneries to offer for a relaxing cycling tour, but if you prefer the mountains and want to add some extra spice to your weekend plans then Sierra de Guadarrama is for you!
From Madrid city you can take the car to the mountains. A popular starting point for a hike or cycling tour is Cercedilla. This car ride will take up around 55 minutes. The distance is around 57KM.
Another option is going by train, which will take up around 1.05 hour.
Let’s dive in but remember if you plan on visiting the National Park, be aware of the current regulations and restrictions.
THE PARK
The National Park ecompasses almost 34.000 hectares. It separates the Duero and the Tajo river basins and also Madrid and Segovia provinces. The majority of the park is covered by rocks.
The most noteworthy aspect of the park is the representation of the diverse fauna and flora. One of the breath-taking flora species is the Pinus Sylvestris. The pine woods are really something special.
Scientists discovered over 1.000 plant species in the park and 255 fauna species. Most of the fauna are birds.
Moreover, there are also some interesting rock formations and types of stone that are specific to the park and worth the trip if you’re interested in geological phenomena.
The highest point of the park is the Peñalara Peak with 2.426 m above the sea level.
The park is also a popular option during the winter for skiing activities. However, because the summer is near, we will be focusing on interesting bike and hike tours in the subsequent section.
THINGS TO DO
If you are an active person and you like doing sports, this park offers the possibility to try many outdoors interesting activities.
For example, Rock climbing is popular in this area and there are professional climbing-schools in the park too. In fact, this are some of the most important climbing areas in the Country where they have formed part of the best professional climbers in Madrid and its surroundings.
Another good activity is having a good time by taking your bike with you! In the park you can find a nice selection of routes by bicycle, which allow you to know some of the most interesting corners of the National Park.
On the other hand, if you prefer visiting and having fun, you can find 12 beautiful viewpoints reachable on foot, distributed in emblematic areas of the National Park. They’ll allows you to contemplate spectacular landscapes of the park and even the area of Madrid.
It is also possible to find some recreational areas easily to access. Public areas are well equipped to provide basic services always in respect of the natural environment.

Otra semana, otro blog. Hoy convocamos a los apasionados y aventureros ciclistas/excursionistas en y alrededor de la región de Madrid.
A medida que las temperaturas están aumentando, y el turismo está de nuevo en un ascensor hacia arriba, los lugares públicos en Madrid podrían estar cada vez más llenos.
La ciudad de Madrid tiene un montón de hermosos paisajes para ofrecer para un relajante recorrido en bicicleta, pero si prefieres las montañas y quieres añadir un poco de especia extra a tus planes de fin de semana, ¡Sierra de Guadarrama es para ti!
Desde la ciudad de Madrid se puede tomar el coche a las montañas. Un punto de partida popular para una excursión a pie o en bicicleta es Cercedilla. Este paseo en coche tomará alrededor de 55 minutos. La distancia es de alrededor de 57KM.
Otra opción es ir en tren, que tomará alrededor de 1,05 hora.
Vamos a bucear, pero recuerde que si usted planea visitar el Parque Nacional, sea consciente de las regulaciones y restricciones actuales
EL PARQUE

El punto más alto del parque es el Pico de Peñalara con 2.426 m sobre el nivel del mar.

Si eres una persona active y te gusta hacer deporte, este parque ofrece la posibilidad de probar muchas actividades interesantes al aire libre.
Por ejemplo, la escalada en roca es muy popular en esta zona y también hay muchas escuelas de escalada profesionales en el parque. De hecho, estes son algunas de las zonas de escalada más iportantes del País, donde han formado parte de los mejores escaladores profesionales de Madrid y sus alrededores.
Otra buena actividad es pasar un buen rato llevando tu bicicleta contigo! En el parque se puede encontrar una buena selección de rutas en bicilceta, que le permiten de conocer algunos de los rincones más interesantes del Parque Nacioal. Por otro lado, si prefiere visitar y divertirte, puedes encontrar 12 hermosos miradores accesibles a pie, distribuidos en zonas emblemáticas del Parque Nacional.
